Joining a local club is a great way for students to get involved, keep fit and meet new friends. They might even know a few faces from school. It is also a great way for parents to get involved in community groups and support local events.

There are a wide range of clubs and activities in the Port Melbourne community and we have just listed a few to help get you started.

Fishermen’s Bend Gymnastics

Fishermen's Bend Gymnastics offers a safe and enjoyable participation in gymnastics as a sport. They deliver programs by trained staff in a positive learning environment that promotes physical and emotional development and wellbeing. They currently offer gymnastics classes to children from pre-school to teenagers. All sessions are run by appropriately qualified and experienced gymnastics coaches.

Port Melbourne Colts Junior Football Club

Port Melbourne Colts Junior Football Club is the family club, where it’s all about the kids. The club is run by volunteers and exists to provide a safe, inclusive, fun and rewarding environment for boys, girls and the community to participate in Auskick and junior footy. We welcome new recruits anytime and we don’t close registrations.

Port Melbourne Cricket Club

Port Melbourne Cricket Club enjoys active participation in junior cricket. The club is one of the oldest sporting clubs in Australia, and one of the twelve founding clubs of the Melbourne District Cricket competition. The club fields 5 senior teams across a number of grades and junior teams including girls, rookies, under 12's, 14's and 16's, as well as Junior Blasters and Master Blasters.

Port Melbourne Life Saving Club

Port Melbourne Life Saving Club (PMLSC) is situated in the picturesque cove of Port Philip Bay. It is proudly staffed by volunteers of all ages, from the local community, who donate their time, skills and expertise to keep Port Melbourne beach safe for swimmers and visitors. We boast a robust junior Nippers program, that runs through the summer months, for children under 14 years of age.

Port Melbourne Mariners Baseball Club

The Port Melbourne Mariners Baseball Club enjoys a rich history within Australian baseball, having been formed in 1929. The club comprises of junior and senior teams, is always friendly and welcoming of new members, from beginners to the experienced.

Port Melbourne Netball Club

Port Melbourne Netball Club aims to provide opportunities for the local community to play netball and advance their skill level in a friendly, inclusive, social environment. We aim to create a successful future for our club through innovative leadership, a strong commitment to skill development for all players, provision of a junior development program and development opportunities for our coaches, umpires and officials.

Port Melbourne Sharks Soccer Club

Port Melbourne Sharks are an Australian football club with a long standing history. The club has grown in its professionalism and has developed outstanding youth development pathways for junior players, with a number of its juniors going on to play overseas and in the "A" League. Port Melbourne Soccer Club is committed to the development of football and developing players of the future.

Port Melbourne Tennis Club

Port Melbourne Tennis Club is a community friendly and member managed club that has a relaxed and friendly and inclusive environment. We offer a range of options for members from social tennis, inter club tennis, night time tennis and coaching for all ages. Join the club and enjoy the benefits of membership.

Sandridge Life Saving Club

The Sandridge Life Saving Club is to be an inclusive volunteer organisation, dedicated to providing a safe and friendly environment that enriches the lives of our members and the local community. The Committee and members of the Sandridge Life Saving Club always welcome new members of all ages, abilities and backgrounds.

Middle Park Football Club

Established in 1969, Middle Park FC boasts a thriving Junior program that has been running successfully for 13 years, catering to over 300 players between the ages of 4 and 18. A seamless transition awaits these young talents as they progress into our Seniors club. Particularly, our Girls Program has flourished in the last five years, with more than 70 girls now proudly representing the club on the field. Working in close collaboration with Football Victoria, we are determined to achieve a balanced 50:50 gender representation by 2027.

Committed to fostering a sense of community, our club is run entirely by dedicated volunteers who share a profound love for football and a desire to promote an active lifestyle for our kids. Our core values revolve around Mutual Respect, Passion for the Game, Fun for all, and the firm belief that Community is Everything.
We invite you to bring your little Matildas and Socceroos to join us at the club in 2024, where they can embrace our fantastic culture and grow both as athletes and individuals. Our junior program trains locally in Port Melbourne at JL Murphy Reserve.
