At Port Melbourne Primary School, our greatest strength is our community.

We are a long-standing network of families, students, and staff who support each other and celebrate the school journey together.

Many families tell us that while there’s so much to love about PMPS – engaging learning, caring teachers, and great facilities – the most meaningful part is the relationships and sense of belonging they develop during their time here.

PMPS isn’t just a school—it’s a place where friendships and connections grow and last a lifetime. Families join Port Melbourne Primary School and stay with us, watching their children grow alongside the same familiar faces year after year. Our PFA plays a major role in bringing people together. They run a rich and varied social calendar that blends family fun with parents’ nights out.

The social life at PMPS starts from the very beginning. In the first week of Prep, our Boo Hoo / Woo Hoo event welcomes new families with daytime drinks and nibbles, marking the bittersweet moment of sending your little one off to their first day of school. From there, the calendar flows all the way to Year 6 graduation, each milestone celebrated with the people who have shared the journey with you.
