Principal Team
Tom is an award-winning educator and leader known for fostering high-performing schools that contribute to community growth. He is passionate about the role high-functioning schools play in fostering thriving communities.
Tom obtained his Master's degree from the University of Melbourne and Bachelor's degrees from Monash University. He has furthered his expertise through leadership programs with the Harvard Graduate School of Education, Deloitte, and The Victorian Academy of Teaching and Leadership.
Recognised for his innovative leadership, Tom has received the Victorian Education Excellence Awards for School Improvement twice (2019 and 2022), the Lindsay Thompson Award for Excellence in Education in 2022, and the ACEL New Voice Scholarship in 2023.
Outside of his professional life, Tom enjoys cycling and spending quality time with his partner and two children.
Katie leads the Teaching and Learning strategy at Port Melbourne Primary, leveraging her extensive experience in guiding high-performing education teams. She is a strong advocate for the important role of collaboration, feedback, and data in enhancing student outcomes.
Holding a Diploma and a Graduate Diploma of Primary Education from Monash University, Katie has also engaged in comprehensive professional development focused on coaching and school improvement through the Victorian Academy of Teaching and Leadership and Monash University.
Outside of her professional life, Katie enjoys travel, hiking, and baking.
Caitlin manages the Engagement and Inclusion programs at Port Melbourne Primary School, with a strong background in enhancing teacher strategies for inclusive education. She leads a dedicated Education Support team to ensure that every student finds a personalised pathway to success. Caitlin is passionate about developing and implementing whole-school behavioural and engagement models to foster a high-performing school culture. She is currently spearheading the development and implementation of the Proud Port Behaviours initiative across the school.
She holds Bachelor's degrees in Creative Industries and Education and is advancing her specialisation with a Master's in Inclusive Education.
Outside of her professional commitments, Caitlin enjoys spending time with her family and friends, travelling, and cooking.
Kristen is responsible for the wellbeing programs at Port Melbourne Primary, with passion for wellbeing and promoting positive mental health among students. She leads a skilled team of wellbeing and mental health practitioners, dedicated to supporting students in overcoming obstacles and cultivating skills for their lifelong wellbeing. Kristen leads the creation and enactment of proactive wellbeing programmes and collaborates closely with teachers to integrate wellbeing practices into the classroom.
Holding a Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood Education and a Graduate Certificate in Education, Kristen has engaged in comprehensive professional development focusing on student wellbeing, including trauma-informed practice, professional learning communities, autism spectrum disorders, dyslexia, and speech and oral communication.
In her personal time, Kristen loves spending time with her family and friends, travelling and hanging out with our school wellbeing dog, Alfie.
